Boxing: Poland's Urbański claims European U19 Championship

The country's tally included one gold - won by Fabian Urbański who defeated Georgia's David Mkhetzadze 5-0 in the final of men's 80 kg category.

Before Urbański, only Krzysztof Pierwieniecki in 1972 and Andrzej Gołota in 1986 had won the U19 European Championship for Poland, the country's Boxing Association recalled.

Other notable Polish achievements at the event include Zuzanna Gołębiewska's silver medal in women's 54 kg category, where she succumbed to France's Maloe Teresi in the final. Kajetan Bajzert also won the silver - in the 85 kg category, losing the battle for gold against Greek Ioannis Poumpouridis.

The Polish Team's bronze medals were won by Nadia Formela (51 kg), Oliwia Wasiakowska (57 kg), Milena Ataman (80 kg) and Oliwia Rutkowska (+80 kg) in women's tournament, and by Krzysztof Zakrzewski (+90 kg) in men's.
