"Warsaw is proud to once again host top skaters from around the world," Deputy Mayor Renata Kaznowska said.

"This prestigious Challenger Series event is a unique opportunity for residents and fans to see top-caliber international competitors up close," she added.

The International Skating Union’s Challenger Series allows skaters to earn points toward the world rankings.

This year’s Warsaw Cup is the ninth stop on the 2025/2026 circuit. Earlier events were held in New York; Oberstdorf, Germany; Tbilisi, Georgia; and Bratislava, Slovakia.

After Warsaw, the series moves on to Tallinn, Estonia, and Zagreb, Croatia.

An international field of elite skaters is vying for honors in Warsaw, with Polish athletes aiming for strong results in the men's and women's singles, pairs and ice dance.

The competition runs until Sunday and includes medal ceremonies.

Training sessions are open to spectators, offering a rare opportunity to watch figure skating at its finest, organizers said.

Fans can also follow the event online with English-language commentary.
