Mirosław announced her decision on social media on Monday, her 32nd birthday.

She said she wants to end her career "while still at the top" and on her "own terms."

She said her farewell appearances will include the 2026 Speed Climbing World Cup and the European championships.

Mirosław will also have a chance to say goodbye to Polish fans during this year’s World Cup event in Kraków, southern Poland, on June 3-5, state news agency PAP reported.

She encouraged supporters to attend her remaining competitions, calling the Kraków event her final appearance in Poland.

Her coach and husband, Mateusz Mirosław, shared her post on social media, writing: "One last ride."

Mirosław did not disclose her plans after retiring from competition.

At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Mirosław won gold in the women’s speed climbing event, becoming Poland’s only gold medallist at the Games.

She is a three-time world champion, having won titles in 2018, 2019 and 2025, and a two-time European champion in 2019 and 2022.

She also holds the women’s speed climbing world record, clocking 6.03 seconds at the world championships last year in Seoul, South Korea.

Mirosław was voted Poland’s Athlete of the Year for 2024 in the annual poll by the Przegląd Sportowy sports newspaper.
