Athletics: Poland's Szymański wins bronze in Birmingham

Poland's Jakub Szymański won bronze in the men's 110 metres hurdles at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, earning the country's third medal at the continental event in Britain.

Szymański finished third in Wednesday's final in 13.26 seconds.

Switzerland's Jason Joseph won gold in 13.12, while France's Just Kwaou-Mathey took silver in 13.16.

Szymański, 24, is the world and European indoor champion in the 60 metres hurdles.

On Tuesday, Poland's Pia Skrzyszowska won silver in the women's 100 metres hurdles in Birmingham.

A day earlier, Polish sprinter Ewa Swoboda won silver in the women's 100 metres.

Poland won six medals—two gold, two silver and two bronze—at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome.

The 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham run until Sunday.
