Poland, coached by Nikola Grbić, will move on to Milan for the semifinals, where they will face either Slovenia or Belgium.

Poland had reached the quarterfinals with a 3-0 victory over Latvia. Germany, meanwhile, upset hosts Bulgaria 3-2 in the round of 16.

Poland’s Wilfredo Leon was named the match’s best player after scoring 17 points.

Slovenia and Belgium will meet on Wednesday in Turin in a quarterfinal that will determine Poland's semifinal opponent.

Poland are among the leading contenders for the European title. They are not only defending their 2023 championship but are also the reigning Nations League champions.

This year's EuroVolley championship is being co-hosted by Bulgaria, Italy, Finland and Romania. Poland played their group-stage and knockout matches through the quarterfinals in Sofia, while Milan will host the decisive matches.

This year's tournament is also the first opportunity under new qualification rules to secure a place at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Only the European champion will earn an Olympic berth through the tournament.
