Swimming: Five European medals for Poland in Glasgow

Poland has won five medals, two gold, one silver and two bronze, at the European Short-Course Swimming Championships in Glasgow, Scotland.

Poland’s Alicja Tchórz, Dominika Sztandera, Kornelia Fiedkiewicz and Katarzyna Wasick won the gold in the women’s 4x50m medley relay on Sunday, the last day of the event, finishing ahead of second-placed Italy and third-placed Russia.

Earlier in the championships, Poland’s Tchórz claimed the bronze in the women’s 50 m backstroke and Marcin Cieślak was third in the men’s 100 metres butterfly.

Meanwhile, Team Poland won the silver in the men’s 4x50m freestyle relay and Poland’s Radosław Kawęcki grabbed the gold in the men’s 200 metres backstroke on the first day of the championships.

The 2019 European Short-Course Swimming Championships were held in Glasgow from December 4 to 9.
