The 40-year-old Wach (35-6, 19 KOs), a former world heavyweight title challenger, won by unanimous decision in the main fight of a boxing gala in Konary, southern Poland, at the weekend to claim the title of “international Polish heavyweight champion,” state news agency PAP reported.
The boxing night at Konary Palace near the southern spa town of Busko-Zdrój marked Poland’s first event in the sport since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the PAP news agency.
The event featured a total of nine bouts by both Polish and international boxers, 14 men and four women. It was held without spectators and with coronavirus safety measures in place.
All the matches were broadcast on television and online through a pay-per-view service.
