Six European medals for Polish canoeists, kayakers

Poland has won six medals, one gold, three silver and two bronze, at the 2021 Canoe Sprint European Championships, which ended in its western city of Poznań on Sunday.

On the last day of competition on home waters, Poland’s Dorota Borowska won the gold in the women’s C1 200 m event, while teammates Dominika Putto and Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk finished runners-up in the women’s K2 200 m.

In yet another Polish podium finish on Sunday, the canoe duo of Arsen Śliwiński and Michał Łubniewski took the silver in the men’s C2 200 m.

On Saturday, the Polish kayak duo of Karolina Naja and Anna Puławska claimed the silver in the women's K2 500 m, and teammate Marta Walczykiewicz grabbed the bronze in the women’s K1 200 m.

On Friday, the Polish kayak duo of Martyna Klatt and Sandra Ostrowska took the bronze in the women’s K2 1000 m.

About 700 competitors from 35 countries took part in the 2021 Canoe Sprint European Championships, which were held at the Malta Regatta Course in Poznań from June 3 to 6.
