Twenty-three days ahead of the start of the games, a special ceremony took place at the Polish Olympic Centre in Warsaw.
"Polish Day Tokyo 2020" was attended by President Andrzej Duda, officials from Poland’s Olympic Committee as well as representatives of the athletes who will be taking part in the games.
National Days are usually held in the host city, but the pandemic has caused many such events to be cancelled in the Japanese capital.
