The Pole has won the Golden Player award for the second year running in recognition of his goal-scoring exploits for German club Bayern Munich and the Polish national team, Poland's PAP news agency reported.
"Lewandowski has proved that he is an unerring goal-machine," Tuttosport said on its website, as cited by PAP.
The 33-year-old Polish striker topped the list for 2021 ahead of Italy's European Championship-winning midfielder Jorginho and the famous Argentine forward Lionel Messi, PAP reported.
The prestigious accolade is granted by a jury made up mostly of past football greats, including Andriy Shevchenko, Lothar Matthäus and Hristo Stoichkov.
Meanwhile, Lieke Martens of the Netherlands was named best female footballer, while Spanish midfielder Pedri was named the Young Player of the Year.
The awards will be handed out at a ceremony in Turin, Italy on December 13.
