Football: Pole among 36 referees chosen for World Cup

Poland’s Szymon Marciniak is among 36 referees from various countries who have been chosen to officiate during this year’s football World Cup in Qatar.

Meanwhile, Polish officials Tomasz Listkiewicz and Paweł Sokolnicki are among 69 assistant referees selected for the tournament by world football’s governing body FIFA.

Poland's Tomasz Kwiatkowski has made the list of 24 video match officials (VMOs) appointed for the tournament.

Marciniak refereed matches during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18.

Poland have been drawn to play Argentina, Mexico and Saudi Arabia in the group stage of the tournament.
