The Polish team won 29:26, 29:13, 6:24, 26:24 in a rollercoaster quarter-final match in Berlin, Germany, news outlets reported.
Undaunted by facing the reigning European champions, the Poles knocked out the Slovenians to produce arguably the biggest shock of the tournament so far, and “one of the most sensational results in the history of Polish sport,” according to the sport.tvp.pl website.
Captain Mateusz Ponitka was again Poland’s leading player, registering 26 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists as they reached the last four of the EuroBasket for the first time since 1971.
Poland now take on France, runners-up at last year’s Tokyo Olympics, in the semi-final showdown in Berlin on Friday.
Meanwhile, Germany play Spain in the other semi-final.
The FIBA Men's EuroBasket 2022 is being co-hosted by the Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy and Germany.
The tournament runs until September 18.
