Football: Poland move up to No. 22 in FIFA rankings

Poland have moved up four spots to No. 22 in the latest world football rankings, which were released after the World Cup in Qatar.

The Polish team, captained by star striker Robert Lewandowski, reached the last 16 of the World Cup before being eliminated by eventual runners-up France.

Brazil are at the top of the FIFA rankings, followed by world champions Argentina.

France are at No. 3, ahead of Belgium in fourth spot.

The 2022 World Cup was held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.

Poland in 2017 had climbed to No. 5 in the FIFA table, the best result for the Polish team since the world football governing body’s ranking was launched in 1992.

Poland's lowest place in the world rankings was 78th, in 2013.
