Will Ukraine's campaign remove Russia from the Olympics?

Ukraine is intensifying its campaign to shame the International Olympic Committee into blocking Russia from next year's Paris Olympics.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine took place just days after the ending of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, with many reports published that China had asked Russia to delay the invasion until the end of the Olympics.

On January 27, 2023, Ukraine's President Zelensky announced that Ukraine was launching an international campaign to ban Russian atheletes from the 2024 Paris Olympics - whether or not they wear the Russian flag or colours.

This campaign has been intensifying in the last few days; below a tweet from the official page of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence:

The message is clear that the International Olympic Committee not further damage the Olympic "brand" - already tainted by the alleged "postponement" of Russia's invasion to "fit in" with "China's" Winter Olymipcs.
