Dariusz Nożyński won the Polish leg of the global charity event, covering a distance of 68.3 kilometres in a race that has no fixed finish line and in which runners are chased by a car.
Katarzyna Szkoda, meanwhile, became the winner among the women, notching up 55 km in the run, which started off in the western city of Poznań.
Szkoda was also named the global female winner, ahead of Austria's Veronika Mutsch, who ran in Switzerland, and Poland's Dominika Stelmach, who competed in Georgia.
Japan's Jo Fukuda finished the international race with the best result globally. Running in his home country, he notched up 69.01 km, 700 metres more than Poland's Nożyński, who was declared global runner-up.
The Wings for Life World Run is an annual international charity event that this year attracted more than 200,000 competitors worldwide.
Runners are chased by a car that starts a half-hour after the competitors with an initial speed of 14 kph. The race ends for a competitor when he or she is passed by the car.
