Tennis: Poland’s Świątek sails into Bad Homburg semis

Poland’s world No. 1 Iga Świątek has eased into the semifinals of the Bad Homburg Open grass-court tennis tournament in Germany, with a straight-set win over Russia's Anna Blinkova.

The Polish top seed cruised past the 39th-ranked Russian player 6-3, 6-2 in one hour and 12 minutes in the quarterfinals of the women's singles on Thursday, news outlets reported.
