Defender Maik Nawrocki scored the decisive spot-kick as Legia won their fifth Super Cup in front of 5,500 spectators in the southern city of Czestochowa on Saturday night, news outlets reported.
The Super Cup is traditionally contested between the league champions and the holders of the Polish Cup.
In May, Raków were crowned Polish league champions, for the first time in their history, while Legia won the 2023 Polish Cup earlier that month.
Thanks to their victory on Saturday, Legia, the most successful Polish club in history, secured their first Super Cup since 2008, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
Raków won the trophy in 2021 and 2022, according to officials.
Saturday’s game was officiated by Poland’s world-renowned referee Szymon Marciniak, while Poland coach Fernando Santos was in attendance, the sportowefakty.wp.pl website reported.
