Women's handball: Poland beat Iran in world championship opener

Poland controlled the game from start to finish and won deservedly, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.

The Polish team, coached by Norwegian Arne Senstad, will face Japan and Germany in the next two matches at the Jyske Bank Boxen arena in the Danish city.

Thirty-two teams, including defending champions Norway, are vying for supremacy in the 2023 World Women’s Handball Championship.

The tournament spans six venues across Denmark, Norway and Sweden, and runs until December 17.
