Łazarek, who led the national team from 1986 to 1989, was renowned for his successful tenure as the coach of Lech Poznań, winning the national championship and cup twice.
His death was announced by the Pomeranian Football Association. Łazarek, who also played for several clubs including Łódź teams Metalowiec, Start, ŁKS, and Lechia Gdańsk, had an extensive coaching career with various clubs and even the Sudan national team from 2002 to 2004.
