Swimming: Three bronze medals for Poland in Doha

Polish swimmers won three bronze medals at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships, which ended in Doha on Sunday.

On the last day of competition in Qatar, Poland’s Ksawery Masiuk claimed the bronze in the men’s 50 metres backstroke, while countrywoman Katarzyna Wasick finished third in the women's 50m freestyle.

Wasick touched in at 23.95, setting a new national record for the women's 50m freestyle. Meanwhile, Masiuk equaled his own national record of 24.44 in the men’s 50m backstroke, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

On Saturday, Jakub Majerski took the bronze in the men's 100m butterfly.

The swimming events at the 2024 World Aquatics Championships were held in Doha from February 11 to 18.

Team Poland won one silver medal at last year's World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan.
