The Polish Equestrian Federation announced on Monday the list of athletes representing Poland, with Milczarek’s participation marking a historic moment.
Milczarek, born on September 2, 1965, will be 58 years and 332 days old at her first appearance in Paris. She surpasses the previous record held by shooter Józef Kiszkurno, who competed at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952 at the age of 57 years and 176 days.
Another equestrian rider, Robert Powała, will also make history in Paris, becoming the third-oldest Polish Olympian at 53 years and 289 days when he begins competing in the Eventing Championships on February 27.
Milczarek will join fellow dressage riders Aleksandra Szulc, Żaneta Skowrońska-Kozubik, and Sandra Sysojeva in representing Poland.
This will be a notable achievement for Milczarek, who previously ranked ninth on the list of oldest Polish Olympians after competing at the London Olympics at 46 years and 342 days, where she placed 36th in individual dressage and eighth in the team competition with Beata Stremler and Michał Rapcewicz.
