The Polish referee will serve as the fourth official, with Tomasz Listkiewicz selected as the reserve assistant referee.

Marciniak seemed to be the leading candidate to officiate the most important match of Euro 2024. Had he been chosen, his refereeing achievements would have been truly outstanding, as he has already officiated the 2022 World Cup final and the 2023 Champions League final.

However, in July 2024, it was the 35-year-old Francois Letexier, who has officiated 65 official matches under UEFA's aegis, who was honored.

During Euro 2024, Letexier officiated three matches – two in the group stage and one in the round of 16. He refereed the matches: Spain vs. Georgia, Denmark vs. Serbia, and Croatia vs. Albania. He was also the fourth official for the opening match between Germany and Scotland.

Officiating team for the Euro 2024 final:

  • Main referee: Francois Letexier (France)
  • Assistants: Cyril Mugnier, Mehdi Rahmouni (France)
  • Fourth official: Szymon Marciniak (Poland)
  • Reserve assistant referee: Tomasz Listkiewicz (Poland)
  • VAR referee: Jerome Brisard (France)
  • VAR assistant: Willy Delajod (France)
  • VAR support: Massimiliano Irrati (Italy)

The Euro 2024 final match between Spain and England will take place this Sunday, July 14th, in Berlin.
