"Kulej. Two Sides of the Medal": Pre-premiere screening at the Olympics

The story of legendary boxer Jerzy Kulej, the only Polish boxer to win two Olympic gold medals, has been adapted into a film.

On August 2nd, a pre-premiere screening of "Kulej. Two Sides of the Medal" will take place during the Olympic Games in Paris.

Directed by Xawery Żuławski, the film portrays Kulej (played by Tomasz Włosok) and his wife Helena (played by Michalina Olszańska) during the years 1964-68, when Kulej achieved his greatest successes.

His accolades include two European Championship titles and eight Polish Championship titles, along with Olympic gold medals from the Tokyo and Mexico City Games.

The cast also features Andrzej Chyra, Tomasz Kot, and Bartosz Gelner. After its premiere in Paris, the film will be shown at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, before its theatrical release in Poland on October 11th.

The production has received honorary patronage from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and the Polish Olympic Committee. The film's trailer was released on July 31st.
