The 20-year-old Polish fighter defeated the former world champion and Tokyo Olympics silver medalist by a split decision of 4-1 from the judges in their semifinal contest on Wednesday.

Szeremeta is now guaranteed at least a silver medal in Paris, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
She will face Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan in the gold-medal bout on Saturday.
This marks the first Olympic boxing final for Poland since 1980, when Paweł Skrzecz won silver in the men's light heavyweight category at the Moscow Games, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
