The 22-year-old, who rides for the Visma–Lease a Bike cycling team, on Thursday finished ahead of Ireland's Sam Bennett and Denmark's Mads Pedersen in the race's 195.3 km fourth leg between the health resort of Kudowa-Zdrój, in Poland's southwestern Lower Silesia region, and the town of Prudnik near the border with the Czech Republic.

The fastest Pole, Stanisław Aniołkowski, finished sixth in Prudnik on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard, who finished runner-up in the time trial two days earlier, retained the race leader’s yellow jersey.

The fifth leg of the 81st Tour de Pologne will see cyclists cover a 187.6 km route starting and ending in the southern city of Katowice.

The remaining stages of the 2024 Tour de Pologne end in the Tatra mountain resort of Bukowina Tatrzańska and the historic city of Kraków.

More than 150 riders from 22 teams based in various countries are taking part in the seven-stage 1,050 km race, which runs until Sunday.
