Robert Lewandowski, the legendary striker and captain of the Polish national team, received a flood of birthday wishes on Wednesday as he turned 36.

FC Barcelona, where Lewandowski has been a star since July 2022, led the celebrations, joined by his former club, Bayern Munich.

FC Barcelona didn't miss the opportunity to honor one of their key players, posting heartfelt birthday wishes across their social media platforms. The Spanish club, where Lewandowski has quickly become a crucial figure, shared a simple yet warm message: "Happy birthday, Lewy!"

Lewandowski’s outstanding contributions to the Spanish club include winning the Spanish championship and securing the title of top scorer in his debut season with the club.

Bayern Munich joins the celebration

Lewandowski's former club, Bayern Munich, also paid tribute to the striker, who became a legend in their ranks. The Bavarian giants posted their own message on social media, saying ‘happy birthday,’ showing that, despite his move to Barcelona, the Polish forward remains close to the hearts of Bayern fans.

Lewandowski's transfer to FC Barcelona in the summer of 2022 for EUR 45 million (plus EUR 5 million in variables) was one of the largest moves in recent football history.

With 152 caps and 83 goals for the Polish national team, Lewandowski holds records in both categories, solidifying his status as a footballing icon in Poland. As captain since 2014, his leadership and goal-scoring prowess have been pivotal in the national team's successes.
