During his career, Szczęsny played for Arsenal, Roma, and Juventus, from which he parted ways with in mid-August.
His decision to retire was partly influenced by the termination of his contract with Juventus, which impacted his future in the game, according to the Polish state news agency PAP.

Szczęsny made his debut for the Polish national team in 2009 and participated in several European and World Championships. Over the years, he won numerous trophies, including league titles in Italy and England.
On Instagram, Wojciech Szczęsny announced his decision to retire from professional football to focus on spending time with his family. The goalkeeper bid farewell to his fans, expressing gratitude for their support and highlighting that retirement opens a new chapter in his life.
“I gave football everything I had for over 18 years. I dedicated myself daily, without excuses. My body still feels ready for challenges, but my heart is no longer in it. I feel that now is the time to devote all my attention to my family – my wonderful wife Marina and our two beautiful children, Liam and Noelia. That’s why I’ve decided to retire from professional football,” the player explained.
