The Polish player, seeded 31st, began the tournament in the second round, where she triumphed over Japan's Moyuki Uchijima.
In her match against Paolini, Linette started strong by winning the first game, but her opponent quickly leveled the score at 3-3.
Linette then won three consecutive games to close the first set at 6-4. In the second set, Linette dominated, not allowing Paolini to win a single game, despite facing two break points.
Ultimately, Linette converted her second match point, matching her best result in Beijing from last year.
The entire match lasted 1 hour and 28 minutes, during which Linette hit three aces. In the fourth round, Linette will face the winner of the match between Mirra Andriejeva and Donna Vekic.
Notably, Iga Świątek is not participating in the tournament, which provides Aryna Sabalenka with an opportunity to narrow the points gap in the WTA rankings.
