The San Antonio Spurs won the first quarter against the Los Angeles Clippers by a whopping 40:14 on Thursday night - but despite that, they let the victory slip through their fingers, losing 113:104 in the end. One of the reasons was the injury of Polish rising star Jeremy Sochan, who spent only 7 minutes on the court.

This negative turn of events following Sochan's disappearance shows how strongly the 21 year old Pole influences Spurs' game. In his 7 minutes on court across the first 12 minutes of the game - Jeremy scored 4 points, 3 rebounds and an assist. When he suffered an injury in the second quarter, after which he did not return to the game - the Spurs were still leading by ten points.

"Jeremy Sochan suffered a left thumb injury. [...] At the moment there is no more information from the club. He is likely to undergo additional medical tests. Let's hope that his injury is not very serious."

- Polish sports journalist Mateusz Babiarz wrote on X right after the match.

Both Spurs and Poland fans nervously wait for updates on Sochan's health, anxious to know how long the Pole will be sidelined. The 21-year-old Pole has had a fantastic start of the ongoing NBA season - as until his injury, he averaged 15.4 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
