France, the 2024 Paris Olympics runners-up and three-time world champions, dominated the game from start to finish, securing a well-deserved victory, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.

Poland left-back Paulina Uścinowicz said after the match: "I would love the result is better, but we are not giving up. We have two more games to go in the group phase. We are looking for a new game on Saturday and I hope it's going to be better."

The Polish team, coached by Norwegian Arne Senstad, will face off against Portugal on Saturday before taking on Spain in their last group-stage game at the continental tournament co-hosted by Switzerland, Austria and Hungary.

The 2024 European Women’s Handball Championship kicked off on Thursday and runs until December 15.

Norway are the two-time defending champions.
