Thanks to the OperaVision platform, opera lovers were offered a daylong series of performances and fly-on-the-wall documentaries from the New National Theatre Tokyo, Opéra Comique in Paris, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Staatsoper Hannover, the Dutch National Opera, the Polish National Opera, the Verdi Festival in Parma, and the Fabbrica of Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.

The Polish contribution was a semi-staged performance specially recorded for World Opera Day, with music by Polish composers Karol Szymanowski, Mieczysław Weinberg, Szymon Laks, Franciszek Maklakiewicz, Tadeusz Baird, Henryk Czyż and Paweł Łukaszewski.

Supported by the European Union's Creative Europe programme, OperaVision brings together 29 partners from 17 countries.

World Opera Day is traditionally marked on October 25.
