French pianist Marc Laforêt, Third Prize winner at the 1985 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, performed at noon, and Spain’s Martín García García, Third Prize winner at last year’s Chopin Competition, appeared at 4 p.m.
There will be two recitals at the same venue every Sunday until September 25. Entrance is free.
Featured musicians this year include leading Polish and international pianists, including Poland’s Janusz Olejniczak, Kevin Kenner of the United States, Leonora Armelini of Italy, and Britain's Ashley Fripp.
The tradition of Sunday piano recitals at Warsaw's Łazienki Park goes back to 1959. It returned this year after a two-year break caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
