“Just a hundred miles away from constant air raid alerts and bombing people are living their lives and I can only hope that they would never feel the same as I do, as all Ukrainians do. However, I would like them to know that the war is closer than they think. The difference between a peaceful sky and a sky full of danger is devastating. I know that humanity has the power to stop this war, people have the power to demand it. And we must all contribute within our possibilities.” Masha Reva states.

All the proceeds from the limited digital art drop combined with limited prints as part of the United For Ukraine’s #ArtistsForUkraine initiative will go to filming and postproduction of the documentary “Women. War. Power”.

Mid-June women Nobel peace laureates will visit Eastern Europe to support Ukrainian activists in their fight for peace, human rights, independence and prosperity of Ukraine. The visitors will be Shirin Ebadi (Iran), Tawakkol Karman (Yemen), Jody Williams (USA), and Leymah Gbowee (Liberia).

With this visit, the Nobel Women Laureates will listen and amplify the voice of Ukrainian women, showing solidarity and bringing support during wartime.  This delegation will bring together a diverse group of women activists who are using art, film, collective action, political advocacy, media, and more to amplify the voice of their Ukrainian colleagues, show solidarity and bring support during war time.

“War and violence are devastating Ukrainian women and girls. This June we will travel to conflict-affected regions where we will listen to and learn from Ukrainian women and support their efforts for peace. We will also meet with decision-makers to amplify the messages of the women and to reiterate our calls for women’s voices to be heard, human rights to be upheld, international law to be respected, and all forms of violence and militarization to be rejected.” Jody Williams, Nobel peace laureate.

This historical visit will be documented by the acclaimed Ukrainian film director Iryna Tsilyk (“The Earth Is Blue as an Orange”, Sundance Winner 2020). Tsilyk is well known for her outstanding artistic approach to war, gender equality, human rights and “girl power”.

The documentary film is planned to premiere at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2022 and travel around the world showcasing the power and spirit of Ukrainian women.

«More than 11 mln Ukrainians have fled their homes to escape. Our role is to help them right now. So all the initiatives are crucial for Ukrainian woman.

Empowered by the unprecedented spirit and strength of our community, we vow to never stop our action. As soon as the war is over, we will channel this power to rebuilding Ukraine and creating the cradle of Contemporary Democracy and Modern Economy.», says Nina Levchuk, co-founder of United for Ukraine initiative.

“Ukraine has a strong history of female activists and strong women. From Lesya Ukrainka, to Oleksandra Matviichuk, to Olena Zelenska, to all those women who have been supporting their children, parents and relatives, while men are fighting on the frontlines. United For Ukraine is honored to support this important initiative to show the world the brave, ambitious and visionary women of Ukraine.” says Olga Hamama, the initiator of the art drops and projects organized and supported by United For Ukraine.

The documentary will illuminate the power of women and their role in the relentless fight for freedom and democracy.

“I look forward to the movie premiere which, I believe, is a very important milestone for Ukraine and for peace.”, Masha Reva says.
