Entitled Mom, I Don’t Want War, the showcase is a joint project between Poland’s National Archives institution and its Ukrainian partners.
On display on the fence of the Polish Consulate General at 233 Madison Avenue in New York will be sketches drawn by Polish children in the aftermath of World War II and drawings made by Ukrainian kids during the Russian invasion of their country.
The head of Poland’s National Archives, Paweł Pietrzyk, has said that, even though the wartime experiences of Polish and Ukrainian children are almost a century apart, they carry a similar anti-war message.
The items on display can be viewed online at momiseewar.com and on the project’s social media sites.
