Krzyżowski, 23, is a student of Prof. Joanna Ławrynowicz-Just at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
After Sunday’s prizewinners’ concert, he received EUR 30,000 in prize money and several special awards, including those for best interpretation of a Mozart concerto and for the best Polish participant in the event.
He has also received invitations to concerts and recitals in Poland and abroad, including at Polish diplomatic missions in France, Switzerland and the United States.

Pedro Lopez Salas from Spain won second prize, and Danylo Saienko of Ukraine was named third prize winner.
The remaining two finalists, Shio Okui of Japan and Poland’s Piotr Pawlak, received honorable mentions.
The Paderewski Piano Competition, which is named after the legendary Polish pianist, composer and statesman, was launched in 1961. Since 1998, it has been held every three years, attracting pianists from around the world.
