Hailed on the Wigmore Hall’s website as “the internationally admired trio,” the group is made up of Marcin Wasilewski (piano), Sławomir Kurkiewicz (double bass) and Michał Miśkiewicz (drums).
The website quotes from Jazz Times: “The fact that the three have played together since they were teenagers is audible in the way they trust the epiphanies they collectively come upon.”
The programme of the concert focuses on tracks from the group's album En Attendant, which was released in September 2021.
Founded in 1993, the Marcin Wasilewski Trio quickly became an important force on the Polish jazz scene, both in its own right and playing and recording together with trumpeter Tomasz Stańko.
