The all-Chopin disc features the composer’s Piano Sonatas Nos. 2 and 3Barcarolle Op. 60 and Nocturne Op. 48 No. 2.

The album was released by Deutsche Grammophon in all formats, including a 2-LP vinyl edition.

Blechacz has recorded exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon since 2007, starting with Chopin’s Preludes, followed in 2009 by both of the composer’s concertos (with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under Polish conductor Jerzy Semkow) and Chopin’s polonaises released in 2013.

In an interview with the Polish Press Agency (PAP), Blechacz said he was toying with the idea of recording Chopin’s complete piano output, a project that could take several decades to complete.

Blechacz is the winner of the 2005 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. The success rocketed him to stardom, with performances with leading orchestras in prestigious concert halls and festivals.

His distinctions include the 2014 Gilmore Artist Award, one of the highest honours in piano performance.

Blechacz's upcoming engagements will take him to South Korea, Japan, Germany, Austria and Switzerland in a wide repertoire comprising piano concertos by Schumann, Liszt and Chopin.
