The exhibition, entitled "Unissued Diplomas," tells the stories of 36 students killed in the war.

One of them is 20 year-old Yevheniia Babakova who studied pharmacy at Kherson State University. Her profile on the display board says: “Yevheniia was good at dancing. She was sensible and always ready to help. She dreamed of opening her own social pharmacy and a massage centre. In her free time she made TikTok videos and did bead embroidery and decoupage. She was killed by a Russian airstrike on Mariupol on March 9, 2022.”

The Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union, which organized the exhibition, says that the idea of the display is “to remind the world about the ongoing war and the price Ukrainians pay daily in their fight for freedom."

The exhibition has already been shown in over 40 universities across the world. It runs at the Catholic University in Lublin until April 13. There are 485 Ukrainians currently studying there.
