Founded in 2014, the 40-strong Prime Orchestra is a crossover band combining tradition, innovation and cutting-edge technology.

Its members say that after Russian bombs fell on Kharkiv, they found shelter in the west of the country and joined the defence of their homeland as volunteers.

They say that, on their tour of Poland, they are acting as the ambassadors of Kharkiv and Ukraine.

During the concerts, the members of the ensemble share their war experience with the audience and show film footage documenting the Russian invasion.

In a statement for the Polish Press Agency, the Prime Orchestra said: “It is very important for the world to learn what we are doing and why. Thanks to our concerts and help offered by the caring Europeans, 50 power generators, medical equipment, clothing, baby food and other necessities have been delivered to the Kharkiv region."

After Poland, the Ukrainian musicians plan to tour the Czech Republic and Germany.
