In an interview with Radio Poland recorded after a ceremony in Warsaw, Thomas described his adventure with Polish music as “life-enhancing.”
He said: “Polish music has given me so much more than I’ve given Polish music. It’s been a shared enterprise.”
Thomas is best known for his major study of the music of Polish composer Henryk Mikołaj Górecki and the book Polish Music Since Szymanowski.
