Abakanowicz's impressive sculptures featured prominently at this year's Paris Fashion Week, which was held in the French capital from September 25 to October 3.

The world-renowned Polish pioneer of fiber-based sculpture and installation inspired Alexander McQueen's latest collection, according to executives.

Sara Burton, the creative director of the British fashion house, has said that Abakanowicz's works emphasize the innovative nature of Alexander McQueen's design and passion for outstanding craftsmanship.

Abakanowicz, who died in 2017 at the age of 86, was famous worldwide for her works including towering textile structures and spatial compositions called abakans.
