Its programme includes Beethoven’s Triple Concerto and works by Ukrainian composer Myroslav Skoryk and Czech composer Josef Suk, performed by Latvian pianist Georgijs Osokins, Polish violinist Jakub Jakowicz, and cellist Karolina Jaroszewska-Rajewska.

The orchestra will be conducted by Agnieszka Duczmal, who founded the ensemble in 1968 and has served as its music director ever since.

The Silver Medal of Herbert von Karajan at the Meeting of Young Orchestras in West Berlin in 1976 was a turning point in the orchestra’s career.

Foreign tours have taken it across Europe, as well as to the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Kuwait and Taiwan. It has performed in many prestigious venues including the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Vienna’s Musikverein, the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and Milan’s La Scala.

The repertoire of the orchestra spans music of almost all periods, from Baroque to contemporary music. It has recorded more than 10,000 minutes of music for Polish Radio archives and 50 discs for various Polish and foreign labels.
