A Letter from Poland - The World is not Flat!

This week's Letter suggests that many people - not just conspiracy theory eccentrics - implicitly believe the world is flat. For example, they believe in the "West" or the "East" as absolute cultural and geographical reference points. 

If you sail far enough to the West or East will you fall off the world?
