This year’s Royal Arcades of Art features several noteworthy events:
On August 9, audiences can enjoy the musical performance "I Was Bob Marley's Wife," where Katarzyna Chlebny portrays Rita Marley. Alongside actors from Teatr KTO and the band Mamas and Trawas, she presents a portrait of a modern woman struggling to find her place in the world and manage a relationship with a challenging partner, often a genius.
The festival also includes a series of jazz and classical music concerts, including a performance by the Nemesis Quartet on August 3. Their concert, "Echoes of Folklore," will feature compositions inspired by the folk traditions of various regions of Poland.
On August 13, don’t miss the chance to hear Katarzyna Dąbrowska and Urszula Borkowska in a concert titled "13 Dates with Danuta Rinn," featuring the greatest hits of Danuta Rinn.
On August 16, Agnieszka Przepiórska will present the monodrama "In May, One Does Not Die," which tells the story of Barbara Sadowska, the mother of Grzegorz Przemyk, an anti-communist activist whose son was murdered by the police.
Jazz vocalist Monika Borzym, accompanied by pianist Krzysztof Dys, will perform "Old Songs," featuring major hits from the interwar period by Henryk Wars and Jerzy Petersburski.
Fans of Borzym’s soothing tone and unique voice will hear her interpretations of classics like "Love Forgives Everything" or "On the first sign."
The final concert, dedicated to classical music, will take place on August 24, when Warsaw Camerata, under the direction of Paweł Kos-Nowicki, will perform Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61, and Nielsen’s Little Suite, Op. 1, with Karolina Nowotczyńska as the soloist.
For the youngest audiences, the festival will include eight family-oriented theatrical and musical events at Fort Sokolnickiego and the Kubicki Arcades, as well as workshops "Good Morning, Music," the street performance "Good, Better, Disaster" by Teatr Ewolucji Cienia, and the play "Mrs. Twardowska" by Teatr Scena 96 based on Adam Mickiewicz’s work.
The festival will run until August 24. Admission to all events is free.
