Tabęcki will be performing Fantaisie brillante on motifs from Verdi’s Rigoletto, a piece composed by 19th-century Italian composer and clarinetist Luigi Bassi.
Tabęcki faces strong competition from fellow musicians representing Armenia, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Norway, Serbia, Sweden and Switzerland, all vying for the prestigious accolade.
Earlier this year, Tabęcki, 19, graduated from the Karol Szymanowski Secondary Music School in Warsaw.
He began playing the clarinet at the age of six and has already won several awards, including the Grand Prix at the 2021 Future Stars International Online Festival in Italy.
The Eurovision Young Musicians competition, launched in 1982 and organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), is held every two years.
This year's edition is particularly special as Bodø is also serving as a European Capital of Culture for 2024.
Notably, three Poles have won the competition in the past: violinist Bartłomiej Nizioł in 1992, pianist Stanisław Drzewiecki in 2000, and saxophonist Łukasz Dyczko in 2016.
