The readathon will take place in parks, libraries, schools and museums nationwide.

The celebration will officially begin at 11:00 AM in Warsaw’s Saski Garden, where the presidential couple will inaugurate the event.

Wojciech Kolarski, a minister in the President's Office, emphasized that the initiative provides a fresh outlook on classic Polish literature.

"The aim of National Reading Day is not just to remind ourselves of these works but to show that Polish literature is not merely a dusty collection sitting on shelves, but living art," Kolarski told Polish Radio.

National Reading Day, considered Poland’s largest social campaign promoting reading and national literature, was first established in 2012.

Since then, it has inspired people to engage with the country’s literary heritage by reading one of its classic works each year.

Kordian, written by Słowacki after the failed 1830 November Uprising, reflects on the causes of the rebellion, which had initially filled the Polish people with hope.
