Włoszczowska, 33, will share the position with Italian violinist Lorenza Borrani.

Commenting on her new role, Włoszczowska said: “What an adventure to look forward to! I’m so grateful to the COE for their trust, openness and warmth. To be welcomed with such a positive spirit by a group I’ve listened to and admired most of my life is a dream come true.”

Based in London, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe was founded in 1981. It has about  60 members who pursue parallel careers as principals or section leaders of various orchestras, as chamber musicians, and as tutors of music.

The orchestra works closely with acclaimed conductors such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Sir Simon Rattle, Sir András Schiff, and Sir Antonio Pappano.

Włoszczowska also serves as artistic partner of the Royal Northern Sinfonia, based in Gateshead, northeastern England.

Włoszczowska is a prizewinner of the 2016 International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition in Poznań.

In 2018, she won First Prize and Audience Award at the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig, Germany.
