The event, known as European Literature Night, aims to bring some of Europe’s brightest literary talents to New York audiences and "celebrate the power of international literature," according to the Polish Cultural Institute in New York.

"The evening will introduce 11 European authors through readings and discussions," the institute said on its website.

It added that the event would feature "multilingual readings, a musical performance, panel discussions and Q&As, introducing the audience to the best of contemporary European literature."

The Ukrainian Institute of America said the European Literature Night would enable audiences to "discover the diverse tapestry of European literature ... from untold intimate stories of Franz Kafka and post-Soviet autofiction to travel journals and anthropological essays."

Participants will include Polish American translator Grażyna Drabik.
