During searches of their residences, authorities found numerous historical items believed to have been obtained through unauthorized amateur metal detecting, primarily conducted in the Małopolska region.

The men are currently under police supervision, and prosecutors have initiated proceedings against them. Conducting archaeological searches without proper permits is a criminal offense in Poland, punishable by up to three years in prison.
