Zającówna’s career peaked during the 1980s and 1990s, and she preferred performing in comedic roles over dramatic ones, often saying she enjoyed making people smile.
In the late 1990s, she began stepping back from acting to focus on charitable work, serving as vice president of the Polsat Foundation from 2010 to 2013 and owning a production company called “Gabi.”
She was married to director and screenwriter Krzysztof Jaroszyński and battled von Willebrand disease, a blood clotting disorder.
Her death was announced by the Polish Association of Stage Artists (ZASP).
